I picked two pieces to show how I have grown as an artist. When I first came to this art class I didn't know much about how to make things pop and stand out. Now towards the end I know where to put shadows and highlights to make something stand out more
I found this warm-up interesting because I never really had gone into detail before but for this I took my time and added things that I wouldn't really add if I was just doing it for fun.
My favorite medium was charcoal because you could never mess up and you could really sharpen things on your project. It gives off a good effect. I wish I could have explored more with water colors and more painting then anything because that is usually the most used when come to art.
I'm also going to use this photo for my re-do. I wish I could redo this photo and have gotten the proportions fixed better as well as more of highlights and shadows.
My definition of art as changed dramatically since I came in this class. I thought art was something you did for fun and didn't put much detail in. I was totally wrong. Seeing what I can do now and seeing what things are used to make things happen and look good on a piece of paper changed my mind about art. I thought you could be lazy but art really does inspire people and has to have a lot of hard work put in.
